Wissam Sammouri is an award-winning data scientist with a PhD in predictive data mining and years of practical experience in the field. His projects have earned several international prizes including the French Tech International prize, Vivatech positive impact award in education, European Youth Award, ExpoDubai2020 grant and many others.

Dr. Sammouri is the founding director of 42Beirut, a partner campus of École42, the #1 tech and coding school in the world. He is also professor of data analytics at the Lebanese American University LAU, teaching multiple courses at the Graduate, Undergraduate and Executive-MBA levels.

Previous to that, he headed the Master’s of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program at the American University of Beirut, having transformed and scaled up the program more than 7 folds in less than 4 years, and served prior to that as Chief Information Officer of a luxury apparel brand in Paris and New York.

He has actively taught as full-time or adjunct faculty at several universities in Lebanon (LAU, AUB, USJ, ENA) and outside (Paris Descartes, Paris Dauphine, ECE, Paris-Est) for more than 12 years, in which he created and delivered numerous programs and courses, mainly in the fields of Data Science, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Data-Driven Digital Marketing, Data Visualization, Growth Hacking and E-commerce technologies.

He serves on the board of several organizations in Lebanon and abroad.
